I pray against the spirit of entitlement.
I begin by thanking You for everything we have. I thank You for everything we have been afforded and every opportunity given and available. Thank You for those who have placed their lives on the line. Thank You for those who have taken risks so that we can enjoy our freedoms and liberties. We are all blessed, and where we have become entitled, please forgive us, for I know that You desire us to be always grateful, appreciative, and humble. I know You desire that we never believe that we are owed anything or deserve anything but that we are always humble and content.
Deliver us from this spirit and its holds, which blinds us to the blessings we have, fosters discontentment, and hinders our ability to appreciate and be grateful for what we have.
Father, I fervently pray for deliverance from this spirit and its influences that have held us captive for too long.
Deliver us from this spirit and its effects.
Deliver us from this spirit and its domination and impact.
Arise that this enemy would scatter. Arise that this spirit would have to scatter and no longer be able to turn us away from what You desire, pervert, and no longer have us on the wrong path. We urgently need Your intervention to overcome this spirit of entitlement.
Deliver us from the attitudes and approaches to our lives that what we have is never enough. Deliver us where we are, constantly comparing our lives to others. Deliver us from any attitude that we should have whatever we want and whenever we want it without little to no labor or hard work. Forgive us where we have approached my relationship with You in this attitude. Forgive us where I was looking at Your hand and not at Your heart, seeking Your hand and not Your face. Forgive us when we have expected You to give us whatever we want, when we want it, and when we have expected You to get whatever we ask. Forgive us when we have approached You as a genie in a bottle, or when we don’t get what we ask for, we become upset, defiant, distant, or rebellious. Forgive for having a negative attitude derived from the works of the spirit of entitlement.
Forgive us where we have treated You and others connected to us with entitlement. Forgive us when we have demanded our own way, thinking we were entitled to certain privileges, advantages, and rights, even at the expense of others. Please forgive us and deliver us.
In the name of Jesus, I declare the diminishing of the influences of this spirit. I bind this spirit and its efforts, actions, and activities. I nullify any further plans and schemes of this spirit to infiltrate or penetrate our lives or work their way into our hearts and minds and affect those around me. I proclaim the power of deliverance from the spirit of entitlement, bringing us a sense of relief and freedom.
Father, help us have an attitude of gratitude and be grateful for what we have.
Help us understand that gratitude is the antidote to entitlement. Father, may we never be discontent, disappointed, unhappy, or ungrateful. May we count our blessings and be grateful for the good, bad, ups, downs, haves, and have-nots, thereby overcoming the spirit of entitlement.
In His name, I pray. Amen.
