Gracious Father, I lift up a prayer for the Body of Christ. I acknowledge You as our protector, healer, peace, shepherd over shepherds, and chief overseer. We trust in Your divine guidance and intervention.
I pray that the Body of Christ remains centered on Your guidance. May we be focused on our kingdom assignments, Your causes, and the tasks that You have called us to. May we remain focused and, where needed, regain focus on the bigger picture and the bigger plan. I pray that the issues surrounding the Body of Christ are not distractions but reminders to focus on You, our ultimate guide.
May we be reminded that we are never to place our confidence in men, for Your word says We should not have our confidence in the flesh.
May we as the body be reminded to look to You first and foremost, be in relationships with You, worship You first and foremost, and honor You first and foremost.
I pray You surround those concerned, discouraged, disappointed, confused, shocked, uncertain, unstable, doubting, unsure, upset, angry, fearful, disheartened, betrayed, or let down. Father, surround Your people. Those who need peace, be Jehovah Shalom.
Father, we seek Your divine intervention to grant us peace, to remain calm, to remain in righteousness, peace to keep our mouths and not allow a corrupt word to proceed from it, peace that we would still respect, peace that we would still walk in wisdom, love, and in the spirit. Father, may we hold on to your peace in this hour and be unmoved. Father, may we hold on to Your peace in this hour and remain steadfast, immovable, abounding in the work of the Lord.
Father, give those broken and disturbed the peace of their spirits within. Give them peace in their spirits. Give them peace to guard their hearts and minds.
Father, I pray that You are holding on to those who are discouraged, uneasy, doubtful, use. I pray that You are keeping them near You. You are the Good Shepherd who protects Your sheep at all costs. Though we walk through the valley, low places, low times, disappointing times, discouraging times, uncertain times, and controversial times, may we not fear evil.
Comfort and console those who need it in these times.
Father, we pray for those who feel like straying that You will keep them close with Your rod, keep them in the flock, and keep them from leaving the fold.
Keep them from the enemy who is looking for the vulnerable ones. Keep them away from the one who is as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Father, keep them from the one who comes to kill, steal, and destroy.
I pray that those within the Body of Christ are united in turning to prayer rather than getting trapped in unprofitable conversations. I pray we have a mind to war in the spirit rather than the flesh, finding strength and unity in our spiritual warfare.
Help us be aware of spiritual warfare as Your people and understand that we are not wrestling against flesh and blood. Please help us to be conscious of the principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. May we take up the whole armor of our God that we may be able to withstand the evil day, having done all to stand.
May we be reminded to stand, having girded our waits with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, having shod our feed with the gospel of peace, and taking the shield of faith to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one, taking the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit which is the word of God, praying always with all prayer and supplications in the spirit.
May we pray for one another and those who are directly involved and impacted. May we bring our concerns, disagreements, disappointments, and discontent before You. May we pray rather than adding any flame to the fire, sowing seeds of discord, getting out of place, or displeasing You. May we refrain from judgment, hating, malice, or judgment.
We entrust this to You, knowing that You can help us, deal with us, and do exceeding, abundantly above all that we could ask or think according to the power that works in us.
In Jesus’s name, Amen.
